GOLFING BLECKLEY Bleckley County has two golf courses: Uchee Trail Golf Course & Country Club is an 18-hole semi-private golf course (478) 934-7891. The Woods Golf Course & RV Park is a 27-hole public golf course. 9-holes links style. 18-holes rolling terrain with lots of trees. Fishing at the Lake Come explore our Ocmulgee Public Fishing Area! It is a 106 acre lake stocked with crappie, largemouth bass, bream and catfish. It is intensively managed to maximize fishing success. Due to its unique location and close proximity to the Ocmulgee River, this area offers many opportunities for the outdoor enthusiast. It is a great place for a family outing and has picnic tables, handicap accessible fishing piers and restrooms, and concrete boat ramps. The Public Fishing Area has free parking. There is an education building available by reservation - it can accommodate up to 60 people. It is used for school groups, church groups or scouts. Licenses Required: Georgia Fishing and WMA (Wildlife Management Area) Licenses (need both) or a One Day Pass or Senior License or Handicap License or a Sportsman’s License.    The Ocmulgee Public Fishing Area is located at 408 Ocmulgee PFA Road, Cochran. Second Street in Cochran, may be rented for events such as beauty pageants, band concerts, choir recitals, plays, etc. The cost is $150.00 ($100 rent and a refundable $50 deposit). Built in 1923, the historical auditorium has been restored and consist of a stage and seating for 350+ people. To reserve the auditorium contact the Chamber of Commerce, 478-934-2965. Visit the new Cotton and Peanut Museum/Pavilion located on 109 N 3rd Street, Cochran, behind Bleckley County Courthouse! It is an open-air pavilion with historic photographs and information enclosed in glass display cases. Click this link for more info on the Ocmulgee Symphony Orchestra Classic Music Series (478) 934-9575 The 2009 BIKING BLECKLEY Metric 100 Last Saturday in February Biking Bleckley Metric 100is an annual event which takes place on the last Saturday in February. Supported with MAPS, refreshment breaks, and local law enforcement. All roads are in very good condition and are flat to moderate rolling hills. The SECC is a family oriented club that is dedicated to the restoration and preservation of vintage Cushman motor scooters. Cushman Motor Scooters One of the most famous Cushmans was the model 53, a military model from the World War II era. It was designed to be dropped by parachute with Army Airborne troops, so the motor scooter became known as the Cushman Airborne. They were also used around military bases for messenger service.
